Bristol and Bath Integrated Medicine Directory (BBIMD)
Registration for GPs and other NHS medical professionals

QUESTIONNAIRE 5a - for NHS GPs and other NHS healthcare professionals (HCP) providing complementary therapies, psychological support services or self help, through their own services or via referrals.

Treatments should be free at the point of service.

Such practitioners to include:

  • GPs working for the NHS and practising one or more complementary therapies, psychological therapies or teaching self-help (IM)
  • Other healthcare professionals working for the NHS, including nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dentists, nurses or others and practising one or more complementary therapies, psychological therapies or teaching self help (IM)
  • GPs or other health professionals working for the NHS who refer patients to IM services

Please note: The BBIMD can list all medical professionals who offer complementary therapies themselves, whether or not they meet Healthy Bristol's quality assurance for that therapy. The following questionnaire will ask you to confirm whether your service does or does not meet the criteria.

You may register for the Directory using a short form or a long form. Your entry on the Healthy Bristol website will appear the same whichever you do, but if you do the long form, this will be available to Bristol and Bath doctors to help them make their referral decisions.
We strongly recommend that you use the long form as it will not only increase the likelihood of referrals, but thinking about the questions will also help you with your professional development and help you to improve your practice to reflect the new clinical governance framework which is becoming required within UK healthcare.
